Catalina Island Cats

Two team members of ARRC (Betty Donnelson and Thea Martin) joined Animal Protection and Rescue League Alicia Koberstien, as well as local Rescue Volunteers Alissa Silva, Lorik Bernstein and our pal William Ogelsby from Fix Nation, Sunday February 8, 2015 on Catalina Island to help mitigate TNR (Trap – Neuter – Release) project for a colony of 30 Feral and Semi Feral Cats! Beautiful weather and smooth sailing from and to the mainland made this trip especially joyous, but the real joy was the amazing colony that has survived for many years (lots of aged cats in a colony = healthy cats!). We enjoyed meeting the current caretakers (Sylvia and Ari) as well as many of the “friendly” kitties. ARRC is currently looking for more food donations and boaters willing to help get food, supplies and volunteers to the Island for the upcoming TNR Day as well as continued support for this amazing Cat Colony! https://www.facebook.com/CatalinaHarborCats?ref=br_tf
